Obituary of Luetta Mae Price
Luetta Price: July 3, 1931, Pittsburgh, PA – February 23, 2019 Nashville, TN.
Beloved Wife, Sister, Mother, Aunt... Friend.
Lue was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and passed away at The Lodge at Natchez Trace of Intestinal Cancer at the age of 87. She was predeceased by her father, Howard McClain, her mother Mary Guzzy McClain and young son, Mark Howard Thomas. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Roger Wingham Price, Sister Holly Gardner (Tom) and son Jay Lawrence Thomas (Mary Ann).
Her eventful life took her from Pittsburgh to the San Francisco Bay Area to Pueblo and Denver Colorado to, finally, Nashville Tennessee.
It was in Pueblo that Lue met the love of her life, Roger Price. They met while working for the Pueblo School District and married on January 2nd, 1982. The day after they married they moved to Denver, Colorado where they lived and loved for 21 years.
Retirement took them closer to family in Tennessee. They moved to White Bluff where, The United Methodist Church of Kingston Springs, was an important part of their lives. For years Luetta and Roger sang in the choir and the South Cheatham Chorale Society, sharing their love of music with the community.
Lue also quietly designed and printed the church bulletin, helping to put into words the spirit of the congregation. She was also active in the Cheatham County Community Theater, where she designed and sewed costumes for many of their performances.
Lue and Roger moved to The Lodge at Natchez Trace in 2018. There they made new friends (among both the residents and the staff) and received the care and support of the Lodge family. Her time there was full of happiness and contentment.
The extended Price/McClain/Gardner/Thomas family would like to thank all those who made Luetta's life so full and rewarding. We can never adequately express our appreciation to all the very special people with whom she shared her life.
A Life Celebration Service will be held at Kingston Springs United Methodist Church (368 North Main Street, Kingston Springs) with friends and family gathering at 3:30 and services starting at 4:30
